scandlines ferry on our Germany-Denmark-Sweden

Tour de Sjælland: Our experience with 3 popular ferry routes and the Öresund Bridge

We’re back on the road (or rather, the water) to experience various ferry services firsthand. Under the motto “practise what you preach,” we regularly embark on trips to expand our knowledge and capture stunning photos. Today, Bram and Rob are on the move!

Our first trip of 2025 takes us from Germany to Copenhagen, Malmö, and back. Along the way, we’ll be experiencing the following routes:

  • Puttgarden – Rødby (Scandlines)
  • Helsingør – Helsingborg (Öresundslinjen)
  • The Öresund Bridge (toll bridge)
  • Gedser – Rostock (Scandlines)

Scandlines is a major player in this region and offers various combination tickets for these routes.

How does it work?

Scandlines’ routes connect Germany with the Danish island of Sjælland. While you can also travel through Denmark via bridges, taking these ferry routes saves significant distance and time, making it ideal for tourists and freight transport.

Since the ferries to Sjælland are also part of a key route between Germany and Sweden, many travellers use these crossings to travel between the two countries. Scandlines offers combination tickets that allow you to book two ferry crossings at once or a ferry in combination with the Öresund Bridge.

We’ll be sharing our experiences on these routes soon across various websites!
